Shipping: the $9.99 buzz-kill
SwitchBot’s checkout page adds a not-so-tiny $9.99 shipping fee on any order under $99. Sounds ordinary until you realize how many of their hero items sell for $39–$79: the Bot button-pusher, the Contact Sensor, the Meter Plus.
On those one-box buys the evergreen 15% code chops maybe $6 off a $39 gadget, then the shipping charge puts you $3.99 worse than list price. The fee also blocks the cheaper side of their curtain rod range. You end up hunting for a filler item just to cross the free-ship line.
In practice, shoppers either wait for a headline sale that pushes the discount past 25% or bundle two or three devices. The real takeaway: treat $99 as your psychological entry point. Anything below that and you are functionally paying list.
